(English) SharkPulse iPhone App Manual

You have two options to send in your wild shark photos to SharkPulse via your iPhone. 1) Use the camera in the SharkPulse app. Only one photo can be taken at a time in the SharkPulse app.  Or,  2) Use your regular iPhone camera to take as many photos as you want.  Then open the SharkPulse app and select which photo you would like to submit.

1) Taking a photo with the SharkPulse app:

The SharkPulse iPhone app automatically opens to the camera.  Simply take a wild shark photo with the camera, select “use photo” if you like it, or “retake” if you want to try again.  If you select “use photo” a box will appear asking you to type in the species name, then hit “enter”.  If you don’t know the species, then hit “I don’t know”. Next hit the “send email” button, and an email will come up with the photo attached, an email already filled in with the date, time, species (if you entered one), latitude and longitude where you were when you took the photo.  If any of these are incorrect information for the photo you have taken, just enter the correct information in the email and feel free to add any additional notes about your sighting.  Hit “Send” and your photo will be on its way to our database!

2) Using the SharkPulse app with the iPhone camera/photo album:

If you take a wild shark photo with your iPhone camera and it is in your photo album you can also submit that photo with the SharkPulse app.  Open the Sharkpulse app, then when the SharkPulse camera automatically comes up, hit “cancel” to go to the SharkPulse app home page.  Next select “Album” to access your photo album. Select the album where your wild shark photo is located, then select the photo, and hit “choose” or hit “cancel” if you choose the wrong photo.  A box will appear asking you to type in the species name, then hit “enter”.  If you don’t know the species, then hit “I don’t know”.  Next a map screen will appear where you will have the option to pin the photo location to “current location” or “drop pin” to manually choose a location.  Once the correct location of your shark photo has been marked, hit “done”.  Next hit the “send email” button, and an email will come up with the photo attached, an email already filled in with the date, time, species (if you entered one), latitude and longitude you selected.  If any of these are incorrect information for the photo you have taken, just enter the correct information in the email.  Hit “Send” and your photo will be on its way to our database!
